Our Uniqueness

The Yoga Institute teaches yoga as a science of awareness and culture of consciousness. Based on the Sanskrit texts of yoga like Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, Shiva Samhita along with teachings from The Bhagavad Gita and Samkhya. The Institute distinguishes itself by propagating yoga as a way of life. The institute believes that yoga is a way of life and does not comprise of only physical culture, as generally understood. Our practical applications of yogic ideals in daily life include the simple philosophies behind the techniques of yoga that contribute to a better life.

The techniques thought at the Institute aim at removing the cause of mental hurdles and physical illness if any, and thereafter enhancing the mental attributes leading to a calm, concentrated and steady mind. Being the oldest yoga institute in the world, the institute has invested time and efforts in research, allowing us to successfully simplify all techniques of Yoga, without losing the essence and benefits of the same. They are exclusively designed to suit the demanding lifestyle of the 21st century.

Whether it is the learning of asanas or yoga sutras, the process of learning in the institute never ends and goes on adding to the sattvic experience. Yogic living through the course of the program re-establishes the homeostatic balance and treatment of diseases becomes a by-product of yogic life.
